“ HARASSMENT”
“ Harassment is nine-tenths of the law. ”
To be fair, harassment is an intractable problem all across the world; but some societies are documenting fewer cases because they have taken sturdier steps to deal with the problem.
“ CHALLENGES ”
Prior to solving the problem, it will have to be contemplated as to how to bar this heinous crime from being practised. The solution, however, lies in prevention. It will have to begin working from the family unit because it plays a very constructive role in the reformation of society. The greater attention of parents in this regard is radically required to raise and mold their male children who must be rovided with sufficient psychological, spiritual, and emotional stability to empower them to function as decent adults. Besides, family units must have nothing to do with the run-through of shielding-cum-supporting those who are sex offenders.
On our society every gender can harassed,
So Parents will have to take this initiative and teach their childern according to it.
A mother can teach or guide her daughter.
A father can guide his son.
There are 3 types of Sexual Harassments;
1- VERBAL
2- NON-VERBAL
3- PHYSICAL
Sexual harassment includes many things...
• Actual or attempted rape or sexual assault.
• Unwanted pressure for sexual favors.
• Unwanted sexual looks or gestures.
• Unwanted letters, telephone calls, or materials of a sexual nature.
• Referring to an adult as a girl, hunk, doll, babe, or honey.
• Whistling at someone.
• Sexual comments.
Why i want to work for this issue;
A few years back I started reading HOLY QURAN with Urdu translation. While reading the translation, I saw multiple times about women respect like,
O you who believe! You are forbidden to inherit women against their will. Nor should you treat them with harshness, that you may take away part of the dowry you have given them - except when they have become guilty of open lewdness. On the contrary live with them on a footing of kindness and equity. If you take a dislike to them, it may be that you dislike something and Allah will bring about through it a great deal of good. (4:19)
So after having an understanding of what Allah wants us to do, thats is to improve the imbalance and to stop this harassment, i got an urge to do something for my sisters, mothers and daughters who donot have that curage to speak out.
So i am planning to start discussing it to my other fellows and colleagues, I also made a plan to go and arrange the short leactures in schools, colleges and universities. Schools are more important because that age is the most important to pick & learn something. I want to make a team, in which there will be Boys and Girls. We all will prepare a demo vedio or Teblo, in which we will teach how to resist that people who try to harass anyone. We will visit the remote areas, where women are not not very much awared from their rights and haven’t courage to speak out against these type of activities.
